Scope of cover
This policy covers damage occurring from 90 days after the last date of breeding until the 6th day after the birth resulting from:
- stillbirth or defect
- permanent disability of your foal resulting from sickness, accident or lameness
- fire
- rejection of the foetus
Compensation
The compensation is 100% of the insured value of the foetus.
In the case of a twin pregnancy, no compensation is paid if either of the foals is stillborn or deformed or is permanently disabled and/or dies within six days after the birth.
If at the start of the policy a recent pregnancy declaration (max. 2 weeks old) is not issued by your vet based on the palpation of your mare, we will not make any payment in the event of the non-pregnancy of your mare. Please read the conditions of the foetus policy for a complete description of the cover.
Premium
The premium for this policy is 9.50% of the insured value of your unborn foal. You pay one single premium for the entire duration of this policy.
The insured value is calculated on the basis of the stud fees that you can increase by up to 2.5 times, with a maximum of €4.500,-.
