Scope of cover
This insurance covers:
- acute death
- emergency slaughter
- castration of stallions aged 1 or 2 with normally developed sexual organs
- fire
- costs of essential surgery due to an accident, sickness or lameness
Compensation
The compensation equals 50% of the insured value on death, emergency slaughter or fire.
Compensation never exceeds 100% of the horse’s insured value subject to a maximum of € 3.000 per insurance year for surgery required in connection with an accident or sickness and a maximum of € 1.000 per insurance year for surgery required for lameness.
Premium
The insurance premium equals 1.6% of your horse’s insured value plus €200. This amount is exclusive of costs and insurance tax.
A premium surcharge of 1% is payable from the year your horse reaches age 15. The minimum premium is €30 per year. Premiums for insured values above € 50.000 are obtainable on request. Ask us for an offer.
Apply for insurance
You need the following for this insurance:
- a completed and signed application form
- an examination of your horse by our inspector for insured values up to and including € 15.000,-
- a clinical testing (not more than six weeks old) from your vet for insured values from € 15.001,-
