Hippo Zorg has a range of different compensation payments. Payments on the sickness insurance and basic policy are by far the most common. A brief explanation is given below. For more detailed information, choose from the menu on the left.
Payments on the sickness insurance
If you have taken out a sickness insurance, you can declare the costs you have incurred for your vet/specialist. The payment reimburses the declared medical expenses, less any non-insured costs and less the excess. The excess is 25% with a minimum of €50 per claim.
Payment on the basic premium
The payment on the basic policy is made if your horse is declared permanently disabled due to a covered cause. This payment is based on the insured value of your horse. In the case of death, emergency destruction, fire or theft the payment amounts to 100% of the insured value. In the case of permanent disability of your horse, the payment amounts to 90%. Depending on the circumstances, a residual value may be deducted.
